Default too many cables

hers's the set up, tele with 1 scart, digi box (grundig 1500t,2
scarts),video( 1 scart),and dvd player( 1 scart),what do I need to do so i
don't have to keep unplugging things to watch whatever of the pieces of
equipment I want...at the moment, the stb has aerial in, scart to tv,scart
to video,rf to video in,link out video to tv...and I've tried several
combinations via a 5 way scart extension block to link the dvd,( 5 way block
into tv with stb in and dvd in,leaving the link to the video alone)..but
when the dvd is in the cct,it cuts the stb out.As it stands I've left the
set up at that, with the dvd unplugged...but it's not ideal...

any helpfull suggestions please

My DVD player seems to dominate my freeview box and I can't over-ride
it. Switching it off (rather than leaving it in standby) does the
trick.

Bit muddled. Try a two way Scart switch from Maplin - it allows the two
devices to switched, but to record off each other.

Otherwise get a decent telly with more inputs.

You really need a switch, Maplins have quite a good selection. Read
what they connect/switch, and how you're supposed to record through
them (scart adds to the confusion here). Drawing a diagram can help.
The staff can help too, perhaps take along relevant info and ask for
advice (at a quiet time of day).

You can get ones with remote controls, and add to the pile ;o}
Actually (and you'll think I work for them) I think they're doing the
e-pilot 8way learning remote for about £30 in a sale at the moment...

Good luck,
Alex
