Default Best deal around Freeview STBs?

buying a new STB in the next couple of days - what's the best deals
around for boxes upto 100 ukps?
Defo has to be Setpal s/w. I've searched the net for boxes, but I
can't find which boxes have Setpal, nor can I find the best prices.
One of you guys/gals must have some decent info and advice??

TIA,

Assuming you are in the UK (you don't sya..............)

Setpal is in Daewoo, Labgear, and Traix boxes. They have a modulator but
only one SCART, and are considered better in poor signal areas.

Otherwise get a Pace DT210F - £79.95 at Comet or a bit less on the 'net.
Twin SCART, analogue and optical sound out, modulator, small, runs cool, and
is quick. Widely thought on here to be one of the best at the moment.

didn't think I'd need to in a UK NG!

Thanks, I've found it hard to pinpoint which boxes use this elusive
s/w. Problem is, I can't afford the Traix/Labgear (think they are one
in the same - CMIIW), and I haven't heard much good about Daewoo
(apart from they have good road holding and a large boot).

Otherwise get a Pace DT210F - £79.95 at Comet or a bit less on the 'net.

It's definitely a toss up between the Pace and the Pioneer, reckon the
Pace will win simply down to availability.

Thanks for the replies,

Consider whether you want a timer. The Setpal boxes don't have one.

I like the look and specification of this box as well. Richer Sounds do it
for £79.95

Just in case you haven't seen it, there's a review in pdf form here

http://www.whatvideotv.com/cgi-bin/d...?reviewid=3222

and the manual can be downloaded in pdf form from here

I believe that the Setpal boxes will have a timer when the 7 day EPG is
finally operational.

I've got one, very good, fast, good picture and sound. Here's a review of
it:

http://www.wvip.co.uk/cgi-bin/output...0_WV_Nov03.pdf

I wouldn't have thought you would have much problems with availability. If
you want one and if it is unavailable one day then you should be able to
reserve one for when places like Richer Sounds (it's £80 the
http://www.richersounds.co.uk/index....l.php&p=301680) get their
next delivery in.

The Philips DTR1500 is supposed to be pretty good for around the £80 level.
It's got phono and digital audio outputs and all the rest.

Someone's said it's crap for audio though so I removed it from my Freeview
receivers page because of that.
