didn't think I'd need to in a UK NG!

Setpal is in Daewoo, Labgear, and Traix boxes. They have a modulator
but only one SCART, and are considered better in poor signal areas.

Thanks, I've found it hard to pinpoint which boxes use this elusive
s/w. Problem is, I can't afford the Traix/Labgear

My Setpal based Labgear was £69.50 in John Lewis ..

No ****?? Is it a good set? Would you rate it? Looks like I might
be in John Lewis tomorrow to check it out. Cheers BillR.

Jambers,

Have you considered the Pace twin (link below)? Two digital tuners and a
hard drive recorder all in one box. It's over twice the price of the Pioneer
but far more useful.

Thanks for the pointer, Barry, but way way over my budget.

Consider whether you want a timer. The Setpal boxes don't have one.

Not fussed about a timer TBH, André, but thanks anyway for the heads
up.

Picked one of these up from JL yesterday, not totally impressed with
it. It doesn't pick up any more channels than my Pace dtr735 box.
Also, I don't like the menu functions, or lack of menu functions I
should say. Also, it's *very* slow on the interactive side.

I guess this would be a fine box for the technophobe. I will be
taking this one back to JL and will be getting the Pioneer on
Thursday, at the least it will be a nicer looking box and gives me a
better 'feeling' of brand quality.
