Default Basic set top box

Hi,

What would people recommend for a cheap, basic set top box? I'm not
interested in fancy EPGs or OSDs, or dual scarts, or anything like that.
All it needs to be is stable.

Thanks,

Joe

Most boxes have the centre of gravity safely above the base. I don't think you
need to worry about this.

On the subject of television interference, there can be no doubt that the most
effective solution is the one that prevents the interference from ever
occurring.

Thanks for that ;-) I was thinking more along the lines of not needing to be
reset every 5 minutes.

Some of the 'bread-bin' style boxes can have stability problems if
they are stood upside down. I have noticed a tendency to rock.

Kids have the " Bush DFTA4 " £59:99 at Argos, has never been switched
off or reset in the three weeks we/they have had it.
YMMV.

Most of the recent boxes are pretty stable - I'd recommend a Setpal box
(Daewoo or Labgear) ,Panasonic TU-CT20 or TU-CT30 or a Sony .

I have had twp TU-CT20 s one for eyar the other for 10 months - they are
fast to change channels and very stable .

I ahve the TUCT30 and has been excellent so far. The Sagem ITD 602 is also
excellent for £59.99 at Woolies.

Thanks to everyone for your replies. Looks like I might go for the Sagem
since that's what everyone seems to be selling.
