I have a perennial problem with BBCi. I live on the Bristol Channel
coast and therefore get signals from both Mendip and Wenvoe transmitters. Whenever I do an auto-rescan on the Nokia it picks up all the stuff from Wenvoe...which I do not want. I manually delete all the Welsh channels, but then when watching the various BBC channels and select interactive, I can't get any miniscreen of the channel I'm watching along with the text. I cured this before by disconnecting a signal booster I have and reinstallng the Nokia, which then only picked up the Mendip channels and produced a satisfactory result on BBC interactive. Any thoughts? Other than disconnect the signal booster.... |

I was waiting to see if anyone else responded with something more
helpful as I too have a 221T. I experienced problems when deleting channels -so much so that I no longer delete them, but do a complete all-channels re-install. I forget what the particular problems were, but I get duplicates of channels when doing a scan for new channels. For example, currently I have 'Channel 14' (014) and Price-Drop TV (014). Both display the same vision -and not my type of channel! If I delete the 'Channel 14', I will have problems, but I forget what they will be... (I stopped deleting these types of channel around about Easter, I recall.) Hence, to my mind, there is a problem with the s/w and deleting channels. (I think that I read recently, in this group, that Nokia may be producing a s/w update soon... Perhaps they will fix this.) Regards, Nick |

I've solved my problem after a bit of thought by doing the following: Go to the "Edit Channels" option in the "Control" menu, then delete all the TV channels in the "All TV" catagory. Then go to the "Channel" option in the "Settings" menu. Choose the manual scan option then choose the channels which you want to scan. You need to know which transmitter you want to use and the channels broadcast from that transmitter. Go to http://www.dtg.org.uk/ to find that information. You will then find you don't get duplicate channels and BBCi works perfectly well too. Regards Ron Thanks, Ron. I will give that a try. Regards, Nick |
