Default 9200 still current

In the recent debates about the 9200 software problems, there was some
comment about how long a company is required (or should be required) to
provide support for a product.

Some people argued that the 9200 is so old we should be grateful for the
most recent fix, as most other companies wouldn't have bothered.

Well, Humax seem to be making a rod for their own backs as they are STILL
selling the 9200:

I realise these are reconditioned, but I believe consumer protection laws
would apply equally. More importantly, to those people who buy one today,
it will - as far as they are concerned - be a current model and they will
definitely expect support on their new PVR for at least a few years.

Clearly Humax aren't that interested in bringing the 9200 to "end-of-life"
status yet, because each of these special offers resets the "product
lifespan" clock.

Actually, for £105 they are damn good value.

Is there any legal requirement in UK law for a manufacturer to provide parts
for a product over a specific period of time?
i.e. suppose I sold an item and said at the beginning of a five year
production run, that I would guarantee spares for five years, would that
also have to apply to stuff at the very end of production five years later,
if so wouldn't that mean that I would be obligated to provide spares for a
total of 10 years on a five year manufacturing run?
