Default Sky TVlink - handy tip

So why not just point it away from the receiver?

Recently I replaced the distribution amplifier in our apartment with a
TVlink-enabled one.
It all worked fine, except in the kitchen, where the response from the
Sky remote was very intermittent and unusable, even though received
picture was fine.
The kitchen is the shortest cable run from our amplifier, and
double-checking connections in an effort to make it work proved
unsuccessful.
Anyway, after some experimenting it appears that, rather than being weak,
the return path TVlink signal is actually too strong. The problem was
therefore "solved" by sticking two layers of ordinary white paper over
the kitchen remote's IR emitter.
It works perfectly now. The paper looks tatty though.

This is a test.
