My old Toppy worked perfectly up until the PSU died.
A common fault on 3/4 year old Toppy's and usually quite cheap to fix.
Even if you don't want to DIY there a couple of Toppy.org.uk forum
members who will undertake repairs for a reasonable fee.
Yes I bought a second Toppy while I try to remember where I stashed my
soldering iron.
I could buy a second iron but I get thoroughly ****ed off buying
things because I can't find the one I know I have, then immediately
finding the original one
sigh
Hopefully by the time they both expire someone will have produced
something that actually works better. I didn't find one yet.
I have rather more of a dilemma. The Toppy seems to produce more motion
artifacts than my other FreeView tuner both fed RGB into SCART sockets on
my non FreeView DLP rear projector set. Swapping inputs and leads makes no
difference. It's most noticeable on dark scenes. To the point where I now
only use the Toppy for recording. I have a few old progs on the HD and
they are the same so it's not down to any changes in the actual
transmissions. Perhaps I should look for a secondhand one with a faulty
power supply etc?
