'My Stuff' on the 5800 is telling me it's out of date and no longer
supported so I thought I'd get the latest version. The installer
complains it can't communicate with the Toppy. Tried it on a laptop
running Win7 and a PC running XP. And different cables.
All I've done so far is check all the voltages from the SMPS and
they're all fine.
Nothing much of relevance I can find on the Toppy forum. But then I'm
probably not looking for the right thing.
Is this directly connected via USB, or via a network and a NAS to
interface to the USB?
Direct to the computer. The same as I did when I installed My Stuff some
years ago.
Assuming the former, is toppy recognised by the computer when you
connect it?
No. It says unknown device or whatever.
Sounds like you need to reinstall the Topfield supplied software on the
PC and try again. Also make sure you are using a Decent USB lead without
and extension.
Hi Chaps,
No there is a different driver required for usb 64bit windows 7
machines, I'm still trying to get it to work properly for big files.
the pc running xp should work especially with a short usb cable.
look under the computer connections section forums on toppy.org.uk.
