Transponder 11568 V (tp24) on Astra 1M at 19E is being cleared for new
HD services by CanalSat.
An number of International channels, often with interesting content, are
affected:
Canal Algerie, TV5 Monde FBS, Al Masriyah, RAI UNO (Italy),
RTP International Europa (Portugal), Tunisie 7, ARTE Francais,
TVE International Europe (Spain), TRT Turk, 2M Monde (Morocco).
TV5 Monde FBS is already running on Astra 19E 11479 V - which is nice to
know since it carries one of my favourite programmes, Tout le monde veut
prendre sa place - which is just about to start as I type
ARTE also survives on 11934 V. Not sure about the others, although most
can be found on Hotbird.
The only FTA channel now being broadcast on Astra 19E 11568 V is the
Canal+ HD 3D demo. I've just been watching the French version of
Spitting Image in 3D. Nice.
As you say, this morning they are all gone, so the reports were correct.
The scrolling announcement banner was clearly an option.
Thanks for the note of ARTE on 11934 V as that was not on my list. I take
it this is the French version to replace the 11568 V, but can't tell this
morning as both the French and German versions are in sync at the moment.
ATRE have this [now outdated] 2010 pdf chart of ARTE transmissions
frequencies:

With regard to RAI Uno, the latest cutback in funding appears to have left
Astra viewers abandoned, while at home, it is giving FTA viewers on
terrestrial and Hotbird a hard time.
